Atherton LR didn't run a reserve side for this
season.
It had been felt that the reserve side was costing the club money, but the club
wasn't gaining any benefits
from them. Very few players were making the step up from the reserves to the
first team.
So in a cost cutting exercise, it was decided not to run a reserve team this
season
